Aaron working out

This was Aaron's hair style when he woke up today. Since its a cold rainy day, we are staying in and the hair-do will probably stay all day (and we will be in our PJ's).
Caleb came home for a long lunch. Aaron loves watching Caleb do some pull up on his new pull up bar that he put up in the office. So, Aaron wanted to give it a try.

Ready...set...go...

Almost there...

I did it!!!

Aaron and "Michael" (not Aaron Michael)

Here are a couple pictures Caleb took one night when Michael (Caleb's dad) was over. I don't think there are many things sweeter than Aaron cuddling. Thankfully he is getting sweeter and sweeter...he likes to cuddle more and I (and everyone else) am enjoying every minute of it. Michael still has not picked out a name...if he isn't careful, Caleb is going to teach Aaron to call him by the worst grandpa name ever.

Baby bottles

While procrastinating on some of my new favorite websites I learned about BPA in bottles. Basically, the type of plastic they use can leak dangerous levels of toxins into the milk. This is the case when there is warm liquid in the bottle or if the bottle is ever put in the microwave or dishwasher (which I think 99% of parents do that). Well, after doing some research, I decided I did not want to take the chance with it. This is still a somewhat controversial topic, but I guess plenty of other people feel this way as well. SOME Babiesrus (and toysrus) stores are giving store credit for any bottle that has BPA in it. The bottles can be used and you do not have to have the original packaging or receipt. So, I called BRU here in Greensboro and they confirmed they will accept any bottle (and sippy) as long as they are currently selling the bottle and you have ALL the parts. I just got back from returning all my Dr. Brown bottles and walked away with a gift card for $45. I had some other bottles and sippy cups that they do not sell that I will now be throwing away. They were very nice about accepting the items and I did not have any problems at all. From what I have read online this varies by store. It was well worth it for me to go up into the attic and get all Aaron's old bottles out of storage (I was saving them for the next kid, which will have BPA free items...WE ARE NOT PREGNANT though...just thinking ahead). There have not been any recalls for any bottles concerning BPA but I figured since BRU is helping me to not take the chance of having to use bottles with BPA I would take advantage of the opportunity. The following websites have some helpful info about BPA and bottles/cups that do not have BPA in them.

After learning about BPA I started questioning myself on my knowledge of chemical and other things that could be harmful to Aaron. Honestly, I am pretty skeptical of some of the concerns people have things about. But the more I think about it, I am going to do some more research on some of the controversial chemicals and things that some people are concerned about. I doubt that this will cause me to switch the the all natural/organic side, but I could see some things that I change. I mean, Aaron is sooooo little, I don't think I want to take too many chances. So my next areas of research will be about laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, bath/body items, and carpet cleaning. If any of you know of some good places to do my research or any other specific things this mom (that has been to naive) should be concerned about, let me know. Feel free to pass along the info about the bottles and BRU to any other mom's you know.

Favorite Websites

I thought I would pass along some of my favorite ways to waste time to each of you. I have some websites that I check many times a day.

First of all, I check my google reader to see who has updated their own blogs. Google reader is the coolest thing ever. Instead of checking each persons blog daily to see if they have added anything, google reader tells me when people have updated it. It is the coolest thing ever. Check it out, you will love it too. It has actually reduced the amount of time I waste on the computer. I think you have to have a google account to use it, but they are free and easy to use. Besides stalking all my friends, and people who I rarely know who have blogs, there are a couple of other great sites I check frequently.

First is www.slickdeals.net. As it sounds, this sight list all the good deals out there both in stores and online. Just last week I got some sheets from Linens-n-Things for $25 that were 400 thread count and Egyptian cotton. Now I am waiting for $200 worth of bulbs (flower bulbs) to be shipped from Holland that I got for $30. Our yard is in major need of some more color and I love flowers anyways.

My new favorite site is www.babycheapskate.com I know its not very helpful for those of you who don't have kids, but it is very helpful for those of use wanting to save $ on kid/baby stuff. One of my favorite things about it is they have diaper and formula deals of the week. This lady does all the searching around for us, to find out where to get the cheapest diapers. This is very helpful as diaper prices went up recently and are suppose to go up again soon. I am now glad that I tried store brand diapers which are soo much cheaper and work good. I still prefer Pampers at night though. So, now I know that Pampers will be on sale next week at CVS (a really good sale) and there will be a new pampers coupon in the paper on Sunday (6/1). Mom and dad, will you clip that for me?

A couple other sites that I just found that I will start looking at more are:

I don't know why I thought you guys would be interested in this...oh well, better post to come soon.

veggies anyone

I am enjoying a quiet minute while Aaron is down for a nap. Somehow he has gotten a bad cold. It has been a rough day with a lot of crying, a never stopping running nose, and sitting in the car in the driveway for an hour while Aaron got in a tiny nap. To some of you, that might sound crazy, but I know plenty of other moms who have done the same thing out of desperation. At least I got caught up on some reading I have been trying to do. Anyways, on to the purpose of this post. I need help. Aaron hasn't been eating very well the last week or so, even before this cold. Which I am honestly not too worried about. But, he absolutely refuses any veggies now. Baby food or solids. So, I thought I would be sneaky and make veggie pancakes. They don't compare to my dad's by any means, but they aren't too bad. Aaron ate one, but hasn't touched them again. Anyways, does anyone have some good ideas how to sneak some veggies in to the little guy? Didn't some actor's wife write a book about that? Anyone know what it is?

On to cleaning up, or procrastinating cleaning.

computer and blogging problems

I have tried to do the last post 3 times now and it is not cooperating. I know some pictures are missing and I will try to fix it soon. I am honestly so frustrated with our computer and blogging, which explains the lack of blogs recently. For some reason, every time I try to add pictures, our computer freezes or I get some type of error from blogger. So, sometime when I have the patience and time I will try to get everything fixed and updated. I guess this is what we get for buying a cheap computer. We will not make that mistake again.

Aaron's first hair cut

For a while now I have been putting off cutting Aaron's hair. He has needed a hair cut for a while. So, a couple weekends ago, I finally did it. It did not go over well though. At least I got it trimed around the edges. If anyone has suggestions, I would love to hear them.
Stopping for a photo 1/2 way through. And to regain composure.
"What is mommy about to do with those???"
Giving me instructions of where to cut.
"Got to keep an eye on her"
