Airport

One of Aaron's favorite thing about our trip to DC was going to watch the airplanes land. About a month or two ago Caleb was explaining to Aaron that he was going to fly on an airplane. Well, he talked about riding on an airplane all that week. He loves airplanes and after our last visit up there and Aaron enjoyed the museum at the airport Mike and Megan thought Aaron would love going to watch them land. There is a park right below where they land. I thought it was really cool too.

Lydia didn't enjoy it as much as Aaron. But her and Reid were good sports.

DC

A few weeks ago we went to DC to see our great friends the Blackers and meet baby Reid. He is a good little boy and a cutie. Mike and Megan are doing a GREAT job as parents and it so neat to see them in that role. I hope that our visit with them wasn't overwhelming. We were very fortunate to go up there with the Sisterhen's as well and Dereks very generous parents let us stay with them as well. We had a great weekend and can't wait to see Reid grow up.

The new family
Lydia and Reid. I bet he will be bigger than her in 4 months, even though they are about 8 months apart in age.
Lydia trying to get Reid. Is there anything wrong with going ahead and doing an arranged marriage? I know he will be a great guy.
Aaron also LOVED Reid. He did really well with him and continues to talk about seeing baby Reid.

Long time no post....

First I need to apologize to Ashley. I know I told you I would post and I failed. Please forgive me. My weak excuse, besides my 3 kids (CALEB, Aaron and Lydia) is that Caleb and I are building built in bookshelves. They are coming along very well, but are taking up A LOT of time. We have spent most of our free time over the past 2 weeks doing them. I have done tons of painting and used a power drill a ton on Saturday. Just a few finishing touches and final coat of paint and we will be all done. If I can say so myself...they look good! I will post pictures when we finish. Hopefully it will be real soon b/c I can't wait to cover them with Christmas decorations!!!

I have been sitting here trying to make a photo book that you can get online for free for the past 45 minutes and all I have to show for it are 3 photos uploaded. After much frustration, I have decided to give up. Free is nice...ok great...but there is so much I would rather be and should be doing right now. Only if the site wasn't stupid and slow. But here is a link to info if anyone else wants to try.

In other news, I took Lydia to the doctor today for her 9 month check up. 9 MONTHS...I can't believe it. Anyways, she is doing well. She weighed in at 16 lbs 7 oz. This brings her to the 25%tile. We are finally growing. But I am still putting 3 month clothes (read pants) on her. She is around the 40-50th %tile for height. She is a long skinny thing. She has mastered the army crawl and is getting into everything. Her favorite thing is to try to get Aaron's match box cars, crawl through Aaron's tunnel (pics to come), play with door stops (Aaron use to love these too), and go for any cord. Today (after I fell down the stairs...again...but I'm ok, just limping b/c my knee hurts) I found her under our end table between the couches trying to get the lamp cord. She is really cute now (when she's not screaming according to Caleb).

Aaron is also doing good. He loves Lydia still and gets excited when she wakes up until she tries to take his toys. He says "no Lydia" a lot. One thing I never expected before having kids is how much your life revolves around poop. I mean seriously, besides having to change dirty diapers you got to worry about when they last pooped, are they constipated (a common problem for our two...sorry TMI), and what does it look like. Its worst when they are babies, but the obsession continues. Anyways, to my point. Thankfully Aaron has been pooping in the potty for a while, at least most of the time. He went like a big boy yesterday then we sent him upstairs to get a clean diaper. A couple of minutes later he yells down that he went poppy. I responded with "I know you went poppy in the potty". He returns with "I go poppy in my room". As I go upstairs Caleb reminds me to "be nice" (which was a needed reminder) then I find a trail of poop in the hall and in his room. Luckily, he was a little constipated so they weren't too messy. I have changed way too many poopy diapers and clothes when the diaper was not enough. I really don't understand how they can get poop coming out of the neck of their clothes. I'm sidetracking again. So, now I add cleaning poop off the floor to my list. I have to admit...out of the tub was worst. At least he doesn't play with it like I've heard some kid do, but I will say a quick prayer for those parents.

Now that I have written a book I will try to get some pictures up too. I have a lot to blog about, I just haven't.

Lydia's dedication

We had Lydia dedicated at church last Sunday and some people over for lunch after. It went very well. Caleb read a few verses for her from Psalm 119. It was neat too b/c Will has now dedicated both of our kids. Here are a few pictures. Lydia was soooo cute. My Aunt Brenda (who isn't a real Aunt but my god mother) got her the gorgeous dress when she was born. I didn't think she would be 9 months before she could wear it, but it was perfect and she looked adorable.

Sitting

"Look at me Mommy, but don't distract me, I have to focus here...this is hard work!!!"
It is nearly impossible to get a picture of Aaron and Lydia both. Here Aaron is giving her kisses. He really loves her...

...but isn't always very gentle and careful with her. She doesn't seem to mind though. Of all the things he has done to her, she has only cried a couple of times. She didn't seem to mind getting kicked in the face.

Park

Now that it is getting a little cooler outside, we are making lots of trips to the park.

One of the better playgrounds is located at "Oak Hollow Yacht Club". I nearly died laughing when I saw this a couple years ago. I guess their definition of a yacht is a little different than mine.

Aaron and Lydia swinging together. She is almost to big for this...but they both like it. Aaron only last a minute before he wants to swing fast...

Park with Grandmama and Papa

My parents come up on a lot of Mondays (since they both have the day off) to see us (read Aaron and Lydia). Yesterday we had a picnic at the park. Here are a few pics.

on the move...

Lydia is getting to be such a "big baby", not in size, but ability. She is working on moving around, like an earthworm to get to things, mainly Aaron's stuff. Here is a video of our little "earthworm".

Got to keep up with my promise

So for Ashley and the other 2 people who read this...I am finally writing a few things again. We are all doing well. Lydia is now 7 months! I can't believe it. She has gotten a lot more interactive and fun the past month. She loves attention, especially from Aaron. She gets the biggest smile on her face when he is around. She also lets him do anything to her and she still smiles. The other day she was on her tummy and he climbed on top of her to "ride a motorcycle". I pulled him off quickly and Lydia was just looking around smiling. She is one tough cookie. On the other hand, Aaron can be very sensitive to Lydia always trying to get him. It really depends on his mood.

She is still a little lady as well. At her 6 month check up, she was 13.5 lbs which is around the 10th percentile. But I am really excited because I can finally get her in a few of her cute 6 mo summer clothes. She also loves to eat baby food now. I waited to introduce it till close to 6 months. She fights you for the spoon but we do manage to get a lot in her. Needless to say I do a lot of laundry when she doesn't get stripped down before eating.

Aaron is doing really well. He seems more and more ready to be potty trained (something I am not looking forward to). He goes "poopy" in the potty most of the time. We have been talking up using the potty A LOT and today he said he needed to go "wee wee " (I don't know who taught him "wee wee" but I am trying to change that). Anyways, I put him on the toilet. After sitting 5 secs he wanted to get off and put on a diaper. Not 30 sec after I put the diaper on, he proudly told me "I go wee wee in my diaper mommy!!!" I am wanting to try the "potty training in a day" thing, so we are going to try it in a few weeks when we have a free weekend!!! Other than that, he is talking a ton and keeps us laughing all the time.

I am glad its starting to get cooler and for the routine that comes with school starting, even though non of us start school. But bible study and moms stuff starts back!!! I am sooo glad for that.

Thats all for now folks...the kids are in bed, the kitchen is a mess (the story of my life) and I want to sit and quietly enjoy some time with Caleb. Good night!
