Sponge bath

I gave Lydia another bath today after she spit up on us both. Unlike Aaron, she doesn't mind it. The first picture is a little blurry, but too cute to not show. The second shows you just how tiny she is.

As you can probably tell from the pictures, she is a little jaundice. The past 2 days I have taken her to the dr. so they could draw blood and check her bilirubin levels. They are on the way down, which is good. But it killed me to hear her scream as the pricked her. I couldn't watch. From these pictures, you would think she was awake a lot, but in reality, she is a sleeper, especially during the day. I have to wake her to eat, which was very different from Aaron. The bad thing is, at night she has already decided that she is not the biggest fan on her bed, the craddle next to us. She wants to be held, and we have given in so we can get some sleep. I know this is something we need to stop soon before we develop a bad habit. We are loving being a family of 4. The transition has gone well and at this point it is easier with Lydia than it was when we brought Aaron home.

Kisses

As you can tell, both Caleb and Aaron are crazy about Lydia...I am too, just no photos to prove it. She gets hundreds of kisses a day...and doesn't seem to mind.

when will she come???

Every week when I go to the Dr. the nurses seem so happy I am there, yet surprised. I have been seeing the same Dr every week therefore I have gotten to know his nurses. They are so sweet and encouraging and make going to the doctor every week a little less annoying. So, as far as my appointment today...I am now dilated to 5 cm. The Dr seemed a little surprised to see me...honestly, I was surprised she hasn't come as well. So, we continue to wait. I am having less contractions, but they did tell me if my contractions get regular to go straight into the hospital. I am kind of hoping she comes soon...but who knows. I am preparing myself for 3 more weeks. We will keep you updated. Tyler, don't worry, you will get a call when we have her...but I like knowing that someone is reading this!!! But there will be pics up soon after she comes. That might be Caleb's first post to our family blog! Now I am off to get some Japanese for myself...too bad Sakura isn't in High Point.

for papa...

Yesterday I took Aaron to get his haircut since every time we saw Papa (my dad) he asked me when I was going to get him a hair cut. I admit it was getting a little out of control and he had not 1 but 2 rat tails. The reason I was procrastinating...besides being on bed rest...was we just took him right before Christmas and he HATES it. I tried bribery this time, even gave him his first sucker, which he loved after the haircut, but he cried uncontrollably the whole time. But look how cute he looks now.

This is what Aaron does anytime he knows someone is coming...especially Daddy or grandparents. When I got home this afternoon from the Dr I looked at the window and there he was with a huge smile. What a great thing to come home to. And you can tell that this rat tails are gone!!!

Another baby update

So, we made it to 36 weeks!!! That was our goal. I'm so glad that the Lord has given us these 5 weeks for Lydia to continue to grow. Oh yeah, her name is Lydia...middle name is still to be determined. I would love to hear some suggestions...please. Or if you see Caleb, try to convince him to agree to my favorite. Now that we are in the "safe zone" we are ready for her to come. Monday night I had a good number of contractions and they were 7-8 minutes apart. Well, I didn't want to go to the hospital that night...it was a full moon, and last time we went on a full moon (when this all started) it was crazy busy. So, I decided to take my meds (one last time). The Dr had said to stop them Monday. When I went to the Dr. Tuesday I was still 4 cm and 75 % effaced. I'm not sure if this was good news or not. But he made it very clear that I should stop the meds. Which I willingly did. He also took me off bed rest...but told me to take it easy and to not try to be super mom. I'm not wanting to be super mom, just a mom. Anyways, it has been absolutely GREAT to be off bed rest and get out. The past few days I have been doing more and more. I will get a burst of energy and try to be productive then get really worn out. I still have a lot to do on my "to do before Lydia is born list" but do not care at this point if they are done. Her room is done and all put together and clean. Hopefully I will get a few pics up soon. THANKS TO KARI AND ASHLEY FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!! I have had a lot more contractions the past couple days as well. Yesterday they were 20-30 minutes apart for most of the day. This afternoon I've had a lot...spells where they are closer to 10 minutes. They are getting more painful. Needless to say, I am ready for her to come now. I don't know how much longer I can go with all these contractions. I'm praying that God will be gracious and she will come soon, but even more that I will trust his timing. Hopefully the next post will be announcing her birth. Not because I'm planning on waiting so long to post, but because she arrives soon.

Boys will be boys

Last Friday Aaron got to know our sidewalk a little better...especially his nose. It has been beautiful here lately, which caused bed rest to end a little early for me...I could not handle being in bed, almost 36 weeks when its in the 60's. Back to the point. So, here is Aaron playing outside on Saturday, with his red nose. Surprisingly he got over it quickly and seems to be bothered by it more now because everyone he sees says something to him about it. It looks a ton better now than it did.

Golf and lawnmowers...a boys best friend

Playing with my dead plants...he's not real sure if this is ok or not. But he enjoyed the sticks and dead twigs.

Big Boy

Aaron is turning into such a big boy. These are some pictures of him with his new bookbag from Grammy. He thinks he is sooo cool carrying it to church and stuff. I like it because for a little while I am free of a diaper bag.

It might be as big as him...but he loves it.
In other news, Aaron has used the potty twice!!! I am not really wanting to potty train right now, but he sometimes ask to "poo poo potty" so, I feel like we need to let him. He is getting better and better at saying it at the right time. Who knows when he will be potty trained, but at least he is understanding the concept. Now, I need to just get some advice from friends with little boys on what to do.
